SanDisk Rolls Out a 16-GByte Flash Card

There’s not that much that is retail-specific about this, but it’s difficult to not at least note the introduction of a 16-GByte, which claims the title of the world’s highest-capacity card. The card, with a suggested price of $1,050, truly has the potential to shake up the IT world. When that much memory can sit atop a fingertop, it is going to enable some fascinating things.
The SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash cards claim minimum write and read speeds of 20 MBytes/sec. and are slated to ship by late December, SanDisk said.
Cards issued by European banks when used online cross border don't usually support AVS checks. So, when a European card is used with a billing address that's in the US, an ecom merchant wouldn't necessarily know that the shipping zip code doesn't match the billing code.
