ShopRite Succumbs To The Contactless Pull

ShopRite becomes the latest regional grocery chain to jump onto the contactless payment shopping cart, with the announcement that it will start accepting MasterCard PayPass cards.
The deal is officially between MasterCard and the Wakefern Food Corp., the merchandising and distribution arm of ShopRite, which bills itself as “the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States” with more than 200 locations in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
